DragonSync Privacy Policy

I don’t collect your data. Full stop. I don’t have the infrastructure for it, and honestly, I refuse to monetize you. DragonSync runs entirely on your device — everything stays local, under your control.

What I Don’t Collect

No personal information
No analytics or tracking
No user accounts or registration
No remote servers storing your stuff
No third-party data sharing

How It Actually Works

DragonSync processes everything on your device:

Drone Remote ID signals – Local processing only.
ADS-B aircraft data – From your local hardware or optional OpenSky Network queries (no personal identifiers sent).
Your location – Used to show you where you are relative to detected aircraft. Stays on your device.
Detection history – Stored locally in SwiftData. Delete it anytime through settings.

Network Connections

DragonSync connects to:

Your local network hardware (if you have compatible receivers);
The OpenSky Network API (optional, for additional aircraft data).

That’s it. No tracking pixels, no data brokers, no nonsense.

Third-Party Frameworks

DragonSync uses the following open-source frameworks for networking and local communication. None of them collect or transmit your personal data:

SwiftyZeroMQ5 – Message queue library for local inter-process communication.

CocoaMQTT – MQTT client for connecting to local network message brokers.

CocoaAsyncSocket – Asynchronous socket networking for local hardware communication.

Starscream – WebSocket library for real-time local data feeds.

These frameworks handle local networking only. They have no built-in analytics, tracking, or data-collection capabilities.

Notifications & Background Mode

If you enable these features, everything happens on your device. Notifications are generated locally. When the app runs in the background, it’s still just processing signals on your phone.

Open Source

The code is on GitHub. Review it yourself if you want to verify I’m actually doing what I say I’m doing.

Your Data, Your Control

All data lives in SwiftData, UserDefaults, or Keychain on your device;
You can access everything through the app;
You can delete everything through settings;
You own it all.

Kids’ Privacy

I don’t collect data from anyone, including kids under 13. There’s nothing to collect.

Third Parties

Apple sends crash reports if you allow it in your device settings. You can disable this at Settings › Privacy › Analytics › Share iPhone Analytics. That’s Apple’s thing, not mine.

Legal Stuff

Since no personal data is collected or processed, GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations don’t really apply here — there’s nothing to regulate.
